As HTMS strives to become a STEM-certified school, our goal is to support this initiative by funding technology enhancements and supplies to help meet a key criterion for certification.
STEM = Science · Technology · Engineering · Math
STEM education is an approach to teaching and learning that integrates the content and skills of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Proficient STEM students will engage in inquiry, logical reasoning, collaboration, and investigation. A STEM student is prepared for the 21st century workforce and for post-secondary study.
Our goal is to raise $50,000 by Sept. 12, 2014 to purchase technology enhancements this year:
•3 iPad carts (90 iPads), bringing the school total to 2 carts per grade
•6 Lego Robotics Kits, reducing the ratio of students per kit to 2:1 in the Tech Lab
•5 iBeams to convert white boards into interactive boards
•Science Probes, all-in-one tool
We work with the administration on an ongoing basis to evaluate these needs. For details about our fundraising, goals, and investments, go to: huskyfoundation.org.
