The fate of the HTMS chess crown was decided on the very last day of
Fall semester in a hard-fought play-off game between two perennial
rivals and former school champions Jared Stanton (7th grade) and Ethan
Ranasinghe (8th grade). Ethan won, keeping the title from last year.
Eric Strobeck (8th grade) won the bughouse chess tournament. James
Mulcahey (7th grade) is the speed chess champion.
Among the top competitors were also Rohan Krishnan, Drew Abbott (both
7th grade), and the rising star Jack Neja (6th grade).
The Spring semester of Competitive Chess starts on Friday, January 8th,
2016. The information and registration form are available below for download.
